During today’s meeting President Petro Poroshenko and President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite signed a road map of development of strategic partnership between the two countries. The document sets out agreements reached in all areas of further Ukrainian-Lithuanian cooperation and spelled out clearly the relations in 2017 and 2018, said the press service of the President.

“We agreed about the effective coordination of our actions in matters of energy security. Today is very important for us to support the position of Ukraine concerning wrong decisions by the European Commission, which will allow Gazprom to increase the gas flow through the pipeline OPAL. And could open the way for the implementation of the second stage of the pipeline Nord stream-2”, – said Poroshenko.

He added that the launch of the pipeline has no economic basis, only a political component, “in order to proceed with a hybrid war, the expansion of the embargo on trade relations” with the aim to cause economic damage to Ukraine and countries of the European Union.

12 December 2016, visited Kiev with an official visit the President of Lithuania and friend of Ukraine, Dalia Grybauskaite. At the meeting with the Lithuanian leader Poroshenko said that Kiev hopes for a speedy adoption of the EU decision to extend sanctions against Russia.
