Ukraine and the European Commission have agreed to resume exports of poultry products of Ukrainian origin to the EU, the press service of the agriculture Ministry. Today, January 30, the supply of chicken meat to the European market is already being implemented.

“The issue of regionalization was one of the most sensitive in communication with the European Commission. The discussions and decisions of Ukraine and the EU apply the principle of regionalization in the trade of poultry and poultry products. Today, the export of Ukrainian poultry to the EU restored”, – said Taras Kutovoy.

The resumption of exports of poultry was the result of a mutual recognition of the regionalization principle in matters of bird flu between Ukraine and the EU. In particular, to reach agreement failed due to the meeting of the Minister agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Taras Kutovoy with the Commissioner Vitenis Andriukaitis during the Green week in Berlin and to actively communicate with Gospodarevskaya with DG Sante and the veterinary services of member countries of the European Union.

“We are committed not only to the facilitation of mutual trade, but on the full adaptation of the Ukrainian legislation with the provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in the field of sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS) with the aim of mutual recognition of equivalence”, – said the Chairman of Derepressible Volodymyr Lapa.

We will remind, in December 2016, the EU has banned the import of poultry from the territory of Ukraine, explaining the decision by saying that the fears of the bird flu virus found in three regions of the country.
