Ukraine today, December 27, launched in test mode the biometric control on the border with the aggressor state Russia. Full launch of the system will be 1 January 2018.

The speaker of the state border service Oleg Slobodyan has published in his Facebook video, in which it is told as a biometric will work in airports and on the railway.

“From January 1, 2018 in full at 157 main international and inter-state crossing points will earn a biometric for foreigners – citizens of 71 countries, where they can come certain threats for Ukrainians and national security of our country”, – said the representative of SBS.

Previously said in comments to television channel 112 Ukraine said that on the 27th of December 2017 on the border with Russia in test mode, earn mobile systems biometrics, which will move from place to place.

“We will try to use them on different sections of the Ukrainian-Russian border to test the system itself, to see the readiness of our jobs to larger scale start 1 January,” stressed the official.

According Slobodyan, the complexes will primarily be used for basic, strategic highways, namely at border crossings goptovka (Kharkiv region) and Bachevsk (Sumy region).

Also, the speaker of the border service reported that from 1 January 2018 instruments for biometric control will be installed in KPVV on the boundary line of the zone of the ATO and adminpraise with temporarily occupied Crimea.

“But they will likely perform a helper function for checking biometric data of a person in case there’s any doubt that this is indeed the citizen of the passport which he makes,” – said Slobodyan.

10 July 2017 the Council has adopted a decision to introduce from 1 January 2018 the rules of crossing of border for citizens of countries that may pose a threat to Ukraine, biometric passports.
