Ukraine the following year, plans to reduce deliveries of Russian nuclear fuel production company, TVEL and increase the supply of fuel manufactured by Westinghouse. About this at the annual press conference said the Minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik, UKRINFORM reported.

“Today, 60% (nuclear fuel) supply the Russians, and 40% of supplies Westinghouse (Sweden). But the very next year, we will reach a proportion of 55/45 in favor of American companies,” said Nasalik.

He recalled that the NNEGC Energoatom provides more than 55% of the total generation in Ukraine.

“If the question arises that Russia will not supply fuel, we have enough arguments and options to the nuclear industry to provide from other sources”, – said Nasalik.

According to the state statistics service, Ukraine for 10 months of 2017 has purchased nuclear fuel $381,18 million: from Russia – at $244,31 million, Sweden – $136,86 million Share of purchases from TVEL FC enterprises in monetary terms amounted to 64,09% from Westinghouse 35,91%.
