Ukrainian agricultural holdings kernel and Oklanderlig entered the top-20 largest agricultural companies in the world. This was stated by Mikhail Amosov, project coordinator Land Matrix in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, according to AgroPolit.
“The size of the land holdings of the Bank and their number in Ukraine is growing every year. The trend is increasing. If you take the first hundred agricultural holdings, based on the data Latifundist.com then it’s about 15% of agricultural land. And, for example, based on the Land Matrix database, which covers the agricultural holdings of Ukraine only with foreign investment, almost 10%,” said Amosov.
The largest landowners in Ukraine are companies kernel and Oklanderlig with land banks of over 600 thousand hectares. For comparison, the sizes of the ten largest agricultural holdings in Russia fluctuates from 300 to 800 thousand hectares of land in the same hands, in Argentina, there are some 1 million hectares of land.
“Top 20 agricultural enterprises according to the size of the land Bank looks impressive. For example, the top five holdings of the world controls about 31 million hectares. Ukrainian companies are quite competitive in this case. Agricultural holdings kernel and Oklanderlig included in the top twenty of the world’s largest agribusinesses. And NCH Capital, which is almost evenly distributed their land in Russia and Ukraine – even in the top ten of the 800 thousand hectares,” – said Amos.
