Ukrainian consumers of electricity will be able to receive compensation in case of violation of its quality from the energy companies. The corresponding resolution at the next meeting of the Commission was made by the national Commission carrying out regulation in the sphere of energy and utilities (NKREKU), UNIAN reports.
The Commission in its decision to regulate the service quality of power supply. In case of deviations from the established standards, consumers can claim compensation from energy companies.
According to the decree, for compensation consumers need to fill out an application, which will indicate the amount of compensation and violation of the supplier.
As noted in the national Commission, the compensation will be carried out by reducing the bills for electricity for the next month. Those energy companies that will not compensate its clients of the breach, sanctions will be applied.
To compensate, consumers will be able from 1 November 2016, after the registration of the document by the Ministry of justice of Ukraine.
We will remind, on February 26 the national Commission adopted a resolution which provided a phased increase of electricity tariffs for the population.
From 1 April 2015 the cost of electricity has increased significantly, the provision of preferential consumption was reduced to 100 kWh to all citizens, including residents of apartment buildings that have electric stoves. Today, the tariff for consumption up to 100 kWh is 0.57 UAH, from 100 to 600 kWh to 0.99 UAH and more than 600 kWh – 1,56 UAH. Following the increase in electricity tariff will occur on 1 September 2016 and 1 March 2017.
