Ukrzaliznytsia has extended for five years the contract with South Korean company Hyundai Rotem on the service of fast trains HRCS2. The transaction value was not disclosed, according to the CTS with reference to Railway Gazette.
The first contract on service trains HRCS2 UZ and Hyundai Rotem signed in may 2012. Then the cost of the transaction amounted to 65 billion won ($60 million). The first contract for service operated from 2012 to 2017.
Under the agreement, the Korean side for five years, pledged to serve high-speed trains, perform all warranty obligations to ensure the quality of repair and maintenance, as well as to prepare Ukrainian specialists.
At Hyundai Rotem say that the trains HRCS2 served around the clock. This allows you to respond quickly to any failures.
Recall that in December 2011, the UZ and Hyundai Rotem signed a contract to supply 10 trains deviation HRCS2. The cost of the agreement amounted to $307 million In March 2012, the first trains were delivered in the port of Odessa. On route a South Korean train was released in may of the same year. Over five years of work in Ukraine trains HRCS2 transported 12 million passengers.
