Transnistrian authorities intend to ask the UN to grant the unrecognized Republic observer status in the organization. It is reported by the Moldovan edition of the NewsMaker with reference to the press service of the leader of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky.

He said that the breakaway Republic for more than 27 years and has over 500 thousand people of different nationalities. Because he believes that their interests should also be represented in the UN.

“After all, this organization unites it to the nation, not the state. We have every right,” said Krasnoselskaya.

The Transnistrian leader wants to obtain the same status for Palestine.

“If we see that the old forms of the negotiation process fail, then you must find a new one. Transnistria is not satisfied. You need to go further. The UN is a good platform to present their positions,” he added.
