In the Polish LNG terminal in świnoujście on the Baltic coast in mid-June, 2017 will arrive first carrier vessel with an American liquefied gas. On this day, April 27, the head of Polish oil and gas company PGNiG Maciej Wozniak, UKRINFORM reported.
“We will supply gas company Cheniere Energy. This is the first American gas supply not only for Poland but also for Northern Europe. By this time American LNG fell exclusively on the markets of southern Europe, particularly Spain and Turkey,” said Wozniak.
He noted that it was “a historic moment” for PGNiG, as the US became the next region after the Middle East and Norway, where Poland will get gas in the framework of diversification of energy supply sources.
“An example of cooperation with Cheniere Energy proves that Poland American LNG is the gateway to the markets of Central-Eastern Europe”, – stated the head of PGNiG.
Wozniak noted that the gas purchased at a good price in the framework of the signed short-term spot contract. The carrier will come to Poland from the port to American Louisiana, and will arrive at the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie, in the middle of June.
The head of PGNiG said: this supply is evidence that the American gas through the territory of Poland can be put on the South and East of Europe, particularly in Ukraine.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that Poland has decided to diversify its gas supplies – and start deliveries from Norway via the Baltic pipe.
