Russia continues to increase military power in the occupied Crimea, expanding military bases and restoring the old Soviet infrastructure. It said during the meeting of the OSCE permanent Council in Vienna, the U.S. representative to the Organization, Ambassador Daniel Baier, reports UKRINFORM.
Russia continues to suppress dissent, persecuting all who do not agree with the occupation, said Bayer.
“Russia is increasing its military presence in the region, restoring Ukrainian and Soviet infrastructure such as radar “Dnepr”, expanding the base and putting more military on the Ukrainian land”, – the diplomat said, noting that such actions occur without the consent of Ukraine.
“This week, six Crimean Tatars were sent to forced psychiatric examination because of the protests against the Russian occupation. We urge Russia to cease its practice of punitive psychiatry,” said Bayer facts of violation of human rights in annexed Crimea.
The diplomat noted that Crimea-related sanctions against Russia will remain in force until it ceases its occupation and attempted annexation of Crimea and will not return control over the territory of Ukraine.
