Company kernel businessman Andrey Verevskiy will build Ukraine’s largest plant for processing of oilseeds (sunflower, rape, soya) in Starokonstantinovsky district of Khmelnitsky region on the basis of the kernel of the Elevator. About it reports a press-service of the company.

The planned annual capacity is 1 million tons of sunflower seeds. In the implementation of the project will invest $ 130 million from funds that kernel recently involved in the placement of Eurobonds. Introduction of production capacities into operation is planned for mid-2020.

“The sunflower remains a profitable crop in the rotation of Ukrainian agricultural producers. Now the average yield of sunflower in Khmelnytskyi region is 3.5-4 t/ha, whereas the average rate in Ukraine is 1.5-2 t/ha. However, the majority of processing enterprises located in the South-Central part of the country. The construction of the plant is a definite advantage for Khmelnytskyi region”, – said Yuri Pugach, Director of asset management kernel.

Earlier it was reported that the land Bank of kernel exceeded 600 thousand hectares.

Kernel – the world’s largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil. Since 2007 the company’s shares are traded on the WSE. Kernel completed 2016 fiscal year with a net profit of $of 225.2 million, 2.1 times more than in 2015. Approximately 39% of the shares owned by Andrey Verevskiy, another 5% are owned by Vitaly Homutynnik.

Verevskiy will invest $130 million in the construction of the plant under Khmelnytsky 11.10.2017
