U.S. Vice-President Michael Penny left the match of the National football League in his native Indiana, after some players dropped to one knee during the anthem. It is reported by Voice of America.

This gesture became a symbol of protest against police violence against racial minorities.

Pence in a statement clarified that neither he nor the President, Donald trump does not do honor to their attention an event where “disrespecting our soldiers, our flag or our national anthem”.

Trump had previously lambasted the players for the protests and called on the NFL to fire them.
