Employees of the Ukrainian Institute of national memory, other experts and community representatives developed the draft law on the state language that “soon” will consider MPs. This was stated by Director of the Ukrainian Institute of national memory Vladimir vyatrovich, writes Glavred.
“My friends and colleagues, and members of the public have developed an adequate draft of the law, and he will soon be seen in Parliament… That’s the first holistic attempt to protect the Ukrainian language in Ukraine”, – he said.
As said the historian, such a law is needed for the reason that the Russification of the country in the past were systematically conducted at the state level, and to overcome its effects we need adequate measures.
“For example, in the UK there is no such law. The fact that the Ukrainian language in the absence of statehood of Ukraine destroyed the public methods, so to restore it, get it back to his feet – this requires a deliberate state policy. I hope that our politicians will have courage and understanding, and they’ll do it,” he explained.

According to Vyatrovich, Ukraine over the past few years made a number of important steps towards Ukrainianization, however, this process is far from complete.
“It’s quite a long process. Soon we will be able to say about it in perfect form. But everything done so far, is extremely important. In fact, the quota for Ukrainian music, the duplication of films, and so on – is incredibly important steps that move us forward,” he said.
