National Agency for the return of assets may not take the property complex Mezhyhirya to state ownership because it had not received the relevant documents from the court and the Prosecutor General. It is reported by Ukrainian Pravda with reference to the Agency’s response.

The Department explained that assets accepted in management on the basis of the decision of the investigating judge, the court or the consent of the owner of the assets, copies of which are sent to the Agency no later than the next working day after their issuance (granting) with the corresponding request of the Prosecutor.

“No decision of the investigating judge of the court with the appropriate petition of the public Prosecutor for acceptance to the management of the assets (of any movable or immovable property) related to the residence of Mezhyhirya, the National Agency has not received”, – stated in the message.

On 23 November, in response to the prosecution appeal concerning the possibility of adopting measures related to the management of the Mezhyhirya, the national Agency has sent to the GPU a letter in which asked to provide full information about the complex.

In particular, the Agency was requested to provide relevant information about the physical state of the territory of the complex structures of Mezhyhiria available on the territory movable property, existing transactions (lease, otherwise the right to use and copies of agreements, if any), litigation and other “important information.”

“The response to the letter from the National Agency of the GPU has not yet received”, – summed up in the national Agency.

On 30 November it was reported that the Supreme economic court made a final decision, according to which the former residence of Mezhyhirya escaped dictator Viktor Yanukovych becomes the property of the state.
